Operated by fourth, fifth, and sixth generation descendants, Captain John S. Pope Farm has been continuously owned by the Pope family since 1852. Today, it is home to an exclusive Dorper hybrid, bred for their excellent meat quality. The meat is lower in fat, has a better omega 3-6 ratio, and has higher levels of CLA and beta carotene. The flock is protected by llamas and Akbash-Marrema dogs . Captain John S. Pope Farm’s meat is USDA-inspected, and NCDA-licensed for handling and transport.
